I was recently contacted via email and it was explained that the poll by poll data from Election 2008 has been made availabe in shapefile format! (Big thanks on the heads up). You can also read about it on Pundit's Guide

What exactly does this mean? Well, in the geo-geek world of GIS, you can download it and using your favorite GIS application cough ESRI/ArcMap cough combine the tabular data to show how people voted via maps. Extra links below:
